Ouled jellal breed

 


Ouled Jellal is a breed of domesticated sheep found throughout Algeria.This breed does grow a carpet-grade wool, and is raised primarily for meat.

At maturity on average, rams weigh 100 kg and have a height of 84 cm at the withers. Ewes, on average, weigh 70 kg , grow to 74 cm  at the withers and average 

The Algerian have long legs that are well suited for walking for extended periods of time. This breed is well adapted to live in arid climates.
